The ongoing United States Eventing Association (USEA) Equine Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research Study will send a crew of researchers to the 2011 Red Hills International Horse Trials in Tallahassee, Florida March 10-13. Horses will be tested for their heart and respiratory functions related to the stress they experience during the cross-country phase of the competition. The study is designed to collect data that can be used to prevent nontraumatic deaths of sport horses during horse trials and is supported by donations.
